Get up and running.

Everything you need to install your Atlas PowerLift System, load your bikes, and operate with confidence. Follow the sections below in order.

Requirements

Before You Begin

Your vehicle must have a minimum of 250 lb tongue weight capability to use the Atlas PowerLift System.

  • Verify vehicle is equipped with a 2” receiver hitch
  • Confirm minimum 250 lb tongue weight capacity
  • Ensure vehicle is parked on a flat, stable surface
  • Engage parking brake

Step 01

Installation — Universal Mount

The Universal Mount is the foundation of the Atlas system. It connects directly to your vehicle’s 2” receiver hitch and supports the full system load.

Insert Mount

Slide the Universal Mount into the vehicle’s 2” receiver and align hitch pin holes.

Secure Mount

Insert the locking through-pin, fully engage the locking mechanism, and verify the mount is seated properly in the receiver.

Tighten Mount (8mm Hex)

Using the 8mm hex tool, tighten the main mounting bolt (6” length). Ensure the mount is drawn tight against the receiver with no play.

Recommended torque: 35–40 ft-lbs (47–54 Nm)

Final Check

  • Mount should not wobble or shift under hand pressure
  • Locking through-pin is fully engaged and secured
  • Mounting bolt is torqued to specification (35–40 ft-lbs / 47–54 Nm)
  • Confirm combination is recorded and stored in a safe location

Step 02

Installation — Atlas Lift

Select Mount Position

The Universal Mount features four height positions. Select the position that allows the PowerLift to fully articulate downward to ground level or slightly above ground when lowered.

As a general guideline, the optimal mounting position will result in approximately 20” of clearance from the selected mounting step to the ground when in the lowered position. Adjust as needed based on vehicle height and application.

Position Lift

Using the top bar handles, carefully lift the PowerLift into position. Keep hands and fingers clear of the mount interface while positioning.

Align the PowerLift base with the selected Universal Mount interface position and slide the unit fully into the mounting channel until seated.

Install Securing Bolt (8mm Hex)

Insert the 4” securing bolt through the side interface of the PowerLift and Mount. Using the 8mm hex tool, tighten until fully secured.

Recommended torque: 30–35 ft-lbs (40–47 Nm)

Connect & Verify Battery

Confirm battery is fully seated and locked into position. Press the power button to activate the system and verify charge level using the integrated battery gauge.

Test Operation

Using the wireless remote, briefly raise and lower the lift. Confirm smooth, consistent motion with no binding or hesitation. Verify the lift reaches the intended ground or near-ground loading position.

Final Check

  • Lift is firmly attached to the Universal Mount
  • Securing bolt is torqued to specification
  • Motion is smooth and free of abnormal noise or resistance
  • Battery is securely locked in place
  • Remote is paired and functioning properly

Step 03

Installation & Loading — EBR1 Bike Rack

The EBR1 Rack is designed for safe, ground-level loading and secure transport of e-bikes. Follow the steps below to properly position, load, and secure each bike.

Position Rack

Place the rack on a flat, level surface. Engage all four caster locks by pressing the foot lever downward. Confirm each caster is fully locked — you should feel a distinct engagement.

Prepare Swing Arms

Using the ratchet mechanism, pull the inner trigger to release tension. Lower one swing arm fully to the ground (loading position). On the opposite side, raise the swing arm to approximately the 2 o’clock position and set the ratchet so the arm holds securely in place.

Load Bike

Align the bike with the rack and roll it onto the rail using the grounded swing arm.

Important orientation: Position the drivetrain (chain, derailleur, crank) toward the inside (center) of the rack. This prevents interference with straps and moving components.

Roll the bike forward until the front tire contacts the opposing swing arm. While stabilizing the bike, raise the rear swing arm into position against the rear tire.

Secure Wheel Straps

Position the rail straps over each wheel and ratchet straps downward into the 6 o’clock position. Use the 5mm hex tool to reposition straps forward or backward as needed.

Rail strap mounting brackets can be removed, rotated 180°, and reinstalled for larger wheel/tire combinations. Tighten all hardware securely after adjustment.

Final Securement

Ratchet both swing arms until the bridge firmly contacts each tire. Ensure bike is stable and upright.

Caution: Do not overtighten swing arms or straps. Excessive force may damage components.

Repeat for Second Bike

Repeat Steps 1–5 for the second bike. For one bike only, use the rail closest to the lift for optimal balance.

Swing Arm Positioning

  • Swing arms should contact the rubber portion of each tire only
  • Optimal positioning range: 11 o’clock to 1 o’clock
  • Swing arms can be adjusted up or down to fit different tire sizes
  • If bike has fenders: position swing arm at the edge of the fender, above the fender, or use a shop towel to prevent surface damage

Final Check

  • Both wheels are fully secured with straps
  • Swing arms are properly positioned and tightened
  • Bike is stable with no excessive movement
  • All ratchets are engaged and locked
  • No interference with drivetrain or components

Maintenance

Battery & Charging

Atlas operates on a fully integrated, self-contained battery system — completely independent from your vehicle. No wiring is required.

  • Charges from empty to full in approximately 3 hours
  • Integrated battery gauge for quick status checks
  • On/off power button for simple operation
  • Built-in charging port for fast, easy recharging
  • Built-in puddle lamp for visibility in low-light conditions

Before each use, confirm the battery is fully seated, locked into position, and has adequate charge for your trip. Press the power button and verify the level on the integrated gauge.
